…actually, yesterday was highly confidential so I won’t be able to spill any beans. One of the perks of being a Google Analytics Certified Partner is being “in” on the insider tips so that we can properly brace our internal teams for upcoming product releases and adaptations, but it does mean that we need to strictly respect Google’s development process – which means no details for you. Sorry!
However, I think I can share some overall sentiment and inspired thought towards where web analytics is going that was reinforced yesterday.
- Google gives out great swag to partners. Love the new hoodies this year!
- Google has also been working their hineys off. Lots of good stuff coming, and Google has been doing a great job of anticipating trends and needs.
- Attribution is important. I said it yesterday, and you can expect me to keep saying it more and more after this summit.
- Really, really think about your web users, not your web stats, when doing your analysis. Sounds fundamental but you can get pretty deep with it if you try!
- Invest in your team. Invest in their education, in their man-hours, in their advocacy of what you do as an analyst. Your powerful analysis can’t hold its own in your company without people who can intelligently sell and speak to it.
And with that, I hold my tongue! Had lots of fun and can’t wait to get back to the office and rock a geeky Halloween costume today (we are all being dead – I’m the first on the left, the “Y”).
